Minimal-Incision Browlift

Laser Eye Lid Your eyes are often called the "windows to the soul," but when your eyelid skin starts drooping or bags under the eyes enlarge, your windows can become blurred and hard to see into. In many cases, the heaviness above the upper lid is due to a drooping eyebrow which falls into the eyelid space. This heaviness can make you look tired even when you’re feeling energetic and wide awake. In cases when the brows have fallen, fixing the eyelids alone won’t fully open those “windows”. In cases like this, a procedure to raise the eyebrow can be very helpful. Although there are a number of ways to raise a drooping eyebrow, one of the best ways is with a Minimal-Incision Browlift.

Your Initial Visit

At the time of your consultation, Dr. Scheiner will evaluate the condition and health of your eyes. Specifics regarding your vision, tear production, use of contact lenses, use of medications and personal expectations will be discussed. This information, along with other factors such as age, skin type and ethnic background will allow both you and your surgeon to come to a mutual decision. A plan will be discussed regarding the surgical technique, amount of surgery and type of anesthesia to be used. Dr. Scheiner will also take measurements and “before” pictures to help him plan his treatment options. You will be shown before and after pictures of other patients whom have had the procedure. Additionally, you will watch an informative video, which discusses the procedure(s) and answers many questions.

The Procedure

During your initial cosmetic consultation, Dr. Scheiner of the Aesthetic Center at Tampa Eye Clinic will discuss the minimal-Incision browlift. Minimal-Incision browlift is performed using small incisions placed in the hairline. Using specialized instruments, Dr. Scheiner will gently reposition the underlying muscles and tissues to restore a more youthful appearance to your brow. A Minimal-Incision browlift is particularly useful with younger patients where the removal of excess skin is not required. With this type of browlift, loss of sensation or hair at the incision site is minimized.

Advantages of Minimal-Incision Browlift

This procedure has a faster recovery than traditional open browlift procedures because the incisions are smaller. Patients also report minimal issues with hair loss and less downtime than those traditional procedures.
